Extended Validation (EV)
On top of the authentication steps required for DV and OV, EV certificates require additional manual verification process such as vetting business existence, physical address, and a call to verify status of requestor. How to activate SSL after order completion?
Once SSL ordering process completed, you will receive order confirmation from us. You will be able to access the ordered SSL as one of the service at https://accounts.controlvm.com/clientarea.php?action=services.
1. Select the relevant SSL, and click on “Click to configure” button.
2. Choose server type and follow the screen instruction to submit certificate signing request (CSR).
2. Choose your preferred validation method for domain validation purpose.
3. Once submitted, wait for SSL issuance. You’ll receive email once the SSL is ready.
Required documents for OV or EV SSL Certificate
Organization Validation requires following documents for validation:
1) Business/Company registration forms issued by SSM
2) Phone bill that indicate requestor phone number
Extended Validation requires following documents for validation:
1) Business/Company registration forms issued by SSM
2) Phone bill that indicate requestor phone number
3) Signed Certificate Subscriber Agreement
4) Signed EV Certificate Request Form
How long to wait for SSL certificate issuance?
Once cerfiticate signing request (CSR) and required documents for OV, EV SSL submitted, you shall wait for Certificate Authority to validate your information. Usually SSL certificate issuance will take:
a) 5 – 10 minutes for Domain Validation (DV)
b) 2 – 3 days after for Organization Validation (OV)
c) 3 – 5 days after documents for Extended Validation (EV)
